TENNIS
The Albert tennis section welcomes new members of all ages and abilities. If you can serve and hold a rally then that’s enough to join in with social tennis on Saturdays, and if you are not quite there yet, you soon will be with some coaching from the club coach.
And it isn't just adults either, there are plenty of juniors, down to the very tinies, who can learn to play in the casual and friendly setting of the club.
Team Tennis
The Club plays in the North East Cheshire and the South West Manchester Leagues. There are currently 3 ladies’ teams and 5 men’s teams and 3 junior teams.
The season runs from late April to the end of July and matches are usually played on weekday evenings. We also have 4 teams playing Winter League tennis and these are usually Sunday morning matches.
The tennis teams have finished the season bathed in glory. Our men's and ladies 2nd teams and men’s 3rd all won their divisions, the men's 2nd team had their best finish in years, and the ladies 1st team had their highest finish since 1975 or 76. So long ago that no one can quite remember!
Onwards and upwards for the Winter League
If you are interested in playing team tennis please speak to a Tennis Committee member. Their contact details are on the notice board.
Social Tennis
New members are encouraged to come and join in social tennis on a Sunday afternoon from 2pm. where you will have a chance to meet the Club Coach and find out more about the Club. You will be made very welcome whatever your standard.
